Student groups must have one adult chaperone for every 10 students. One free chaperone admission will be granted to school groups for every 10 students participating.

Baltimore Patriots: the Road to Independence and Beyond
A multi-museum, full day adventure that traces the lives of three Baltimore families during a critical time in the founding of the United States. Students visit Mount Clare Museum House, the Carroll Mansion and the Star Spangled Banner Flag House. The program offers two engaging lesson plans:
- Religious, political and economic motivation of Maryland citizens (Grades 4 & 5)
- Influence of European political traditions on American political ideology as demonstrated by Maryland’s governing documents (Grades 5 & 8)
Baltimore Patriots runs approx. 4 hours, but can be tailored to meet your needs. Chaperones are required in a ratio of 1 adult per 10 students.

Discover Heritage Walk
A full-day field trip that incorporates multiple sites with a portion of a Heritage Walk tour. It illustrates over-arching themes that tie our history together, provides a dynamic experience with touchable objects and activities, and stimulates students to discover the history in their own neighborhood.
The Carroll Mansion is one of the sites in Discover Heritage Walk: Citizens of Jonestown, Citizens of a New Nation (Grade 4).
The program runs approx. 4 hours, but can be tailored to meet your needs. Chaperones are required in a ratio of 1 adult per 10 students.
Admission starts at $12/person and includes at least two museum visits and a guided Heritage Walk tour. Discounts available for Baltimore City and Baltimore County Public School students.

School Programs Frequently Asked Questions
To Schedule Your School Visit: Call or e-mail us at least two weeks in advance. A packet of pre-visit materials, along with a confirmation letter and directions will be sent to you in advance of your visit.
Dates and Times: School programs are offered year-round, 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
Group Size: We can accommodate up to 60 students at the Mansion. Teachers are asked to divide their students into groups of no more than 20 each.
Chaperones: Chaperones are required in a ratio of 1 adult per 10 students. The role of chaperones is to encourage students to ask questions, make personal observations, and provide supervision.
Accessibility: The Mansion’s entrance, ground floor galleries, and restroom are wheelchair-accessible. It is necessary to climb stairs to view the Mansion’s upper floors.
Food Service: The Museum can provide space for eating bagged lunches if arrangements are made in advance of the visit. Please note that there is no food service on site at the Museum, nor is there refrigerated storage for lunches.
